Welcome to PHOENIX!! We started with a breakfast in the Hampton Inn before heading out to our Phoenix City Tour. We were impressed by the multi million dollar homes in the desert which is really, really, REALLY dry and has very little green grass, because in some parts of the city, it is against the law to have green grass. After we drove a little through the city we climbed the hole in the rock, which was like looking through a window to the city. It was an amazing view. Afterwards we went to the Arizona State Capitol where we learned about petrified wood and the growth of the country. For some time to eat and go shopping, we went to the mall. After this morning we were exhausted and many people chose to nap while on the bus. After the bus ride to the Hotel near the Grand Canyon, we were able to play basketball, volleyball, go swimming or just hang out with our brand new friends from the west coast trip.
We are pumped up and ready to hike almost 3 miles down into the Canyon and back!
